The First Aid at Work (FAW) course is a 3 day program that covers Primary and Secondary patient care as well as industry related and/or specific injuries and illnesses. This course meets the HSE requirements for higher risk work environments as part of the HSE First Aid at Work Regulations.

HSe 3 Day FAW COurse for first AId in the WorkplaceMany businesses require staff to be trained to FAW rather than the EFAW or simply having an untrained Appointed Person, as a result of the number of staff on site and the nature of the business. This decision is generally made as a result of a First Aid Risk Assessment and in line with the 1981 First Aid at Work ACOPS issued by the HSE. As a training centre approved by Qualsafe Awards the work related courses that we offer are Ofqual Regulated Qualifications meaning that the Cerrtificate issued carries the Ofqual Logo and recognition. All course fees include a full printed training manual for each student to retain for future reference.

Course Duration:   3 Days, 18 Hours (Formerly 4 Days, 24hrs)
Minimum suitable for:   Higher risk business / Higher number of employess on site, evaluate requirements using the HSE First Aid at Work ACOP, assessment of First Aid Needs, click here.
Course Content:  
  • Primary Care skills including:
  • CPR .
  • Serious bleeding.
  • Shock management.
  • Spinal Injury management.
  • Secondary Care skills including:
  • Illness assessment.
  • Injury assessments.
  • Bandaging and secondary patient care.
  • Additional industry related training includes:
  • Burns management and electrical injuries, additional specific injury care.
  • Physiology with respect to life support skills.
  • Industrial regulations and current HSE requirements including COSHH, and FAAW.
Additional Modules: Optional programs that may be added to the EFAW package. POA

  • Emergency Oxygen use and Therapeutic gas use.

As with all TEAM courses the program follows the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Standards on basic life support and patient care. The skills are taught following the same priorities of care and terminology as Paramedics and Emergency Medicine Doctors use, thus enabling consistency of patient care.

The FAW course is taught using state of the art training materials and student manuals with DVD and video support. The comprehensive manuals are kept by the students for future reference enabling skills to be kept up to date, and enhancing the continuous training requirements for staff. The course can be run over 3 full days either continuously or broken into weekly sessions, or as a part time evening course. The sessions are run either at our premises in Teignmouth or onsite if required, and include a full assessment carried out by 2 of T.E.A.M’s experienced Assessors.

Upon successful completion all students will receive a certificate which is valid for a further 3 years, and carries the Ofqual Logo verifying the Course is an Oqual Regulated Qualificaton.
